While Anisha’s main focus is to encourage farmers to grow enough food to feed their families, they understand that these farmers also must earn a living. To this end, they have created a Farmers’ Federation, whose membership consists of farmers active in Anisha’s programs. This federation was planned to work as a cooperative to sell the organic crops grown by its members. This federation has not worked yet as planned because the size of the available land for the coopeeratives is not enough. 1000 ha are needed as a minimum. This is something Anisha foound out in the process. Farmers are presently selling their crops from the fields which is going well and fetching good prices.
For native seeds, Anisha has started to accept mailorders. |
